Two new courses (D2/D3) will be launched in April 2010 and October 2010 respectively:
T356 Engineering Small Worlds: Micro and Nano Technologies(April 2010)
M364 Fundamentals of interaction design (October 2010)
Graduates of BSc(Hons) EMMD are encouraged and supported to apply for their membership of professional institutions on individual basis, such as The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). In the graduate survey conducted in year 2000, only 4 graduates applied for professional membership on individual basis. It is welcome to note that 1 student successfully admitted to HKIE, 2 admitted to the Class of Associate Member of IEE and the other admitted to the Class of Corporate Member of the Institute of Marine Engineers.
Besides of the successful cases, one of the course U238 Quality and Reliability has been accredited by The Hong Kong Quality Management Association. All those students who passed the course U238 will be qualified for admission to the grade of Associate Member of the Association with effect from October 2002 presentation.
Successful Stories
Majority of students enrolled on the programmes are working adults. There are cases of successful stories with typical examples include a graduate of BSc(Hons)EMMD who successfully changed career from ambulance service to CADCAM software engineer while another changed from beverages manufacturing to IT development officer.
