Advanced standing credits are awarded for previous studies obtained at post A-level standard and from recognized institutions.

Eligible students may be awarded advanced standing credits up to a maximum limit determined by the University in accordance with his/her previous studies.

Students who encounter financial difficulties may apply for a bursary or loan under the Student Financial Assistance Scheme during the first round application period in June/December each year.

Alternatively, they may apply in the second round (during January to early March/July to early September each year) when only 'Pay As You Learn' loans will be offered.

Any person who intends to register for any distance-learning credit-bearing course at the OUHK is eligible to apply for a loan. Continuing students who have passed one distance-learning credit-bearing course that leads to a degree/articulated sub-degree programme at the OUHK are eligible to apply for a bursary.
