- No. Attendance at tutorials is optional. However, there may be some compulsory dayschools in which students must participate satisfactorily in order to pass the course. Please refer to the detailed information on the course guide or supplement to prospectus.

- Can I choose my preferred time and place to attend tutorials?

- Yes, provided they are available on the tutorial schedule. Students can choose their preferred time and tutorial venue to attend tutorials via the Tutorial Group Selection System (TGSS). Instructions on the use of the TGSS will be sent to you about 5 weeks before the start of the semester.

- How many tutorials are there for a course?

- The number of tutorials is different for different courses. Usually, for Foundation level courses, tutorial is held fortnightly. As the course level progresses, tutorials will be held less frequently.

- What should I do if I cannot attend the dayschool?
- A:
- Most of the dayschools are not compulsory. However, if yours is a compulsory dayschool and you have good reasons for not attending it, you may complete the Form T-DD to apply for deferment of the dayschool. Based on your reasons and supporting documents, the Award Committee of the course will decide if you are allowed to make it up at a later date.

- Do I need to attend a tutorial/dayschool/surgery/laboratory session when there is a typhoon?

- These sessions will be cancelled if Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted. Normally, students can still attend these face-to-face tuition sessions when Typhoon Signal No. 3 is hoisted or when Red/Yellow Rainstorm Signal is in force.
