MA/Graduate Certificate in Public Policy |
|
The programme will be taught through distance education and supplemented by lectures and seminars by UNE and OUHK staff over weekends or public holidays. Applicants are required to have a first degree or a three-year diploma from a recognized university. Students who do not wish to continue to the Master's degree may exit with a Graduate Certificate qualification. The Graduate Certificate can also be used as a bridging programme for those students who are not eligible for admission to the MA programme. The application period is from 15 July to 16 August 1999. |

Professional Course in Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) for human resources personnel |

Following the successful launch of the 'Professional Course in Retirement Scheme -- MPF' the CCCE has designed another MPF course specifically for human resources staff to cope with the implementation of relevant legislation. The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of MPF schemes and legislation, and their implementation. It is taught in Cantonese by local experts and practitioners. |

Certificates in languages |

The CCCE has also started a few certificate programmes in languages: the 'Intermediate Certificate in Practical English', 'Certificate in Practical Chinese' and 'Certificate in Practical Japanese'. Apart from the above new courses, the CCCE's summer programmes also include the 'Professional Course in Stock Options' and the 'Professional Certificate in Securities and Derivatives Investment' co-organized with the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Securities Institute respectively. There are also 300 programmes and courses in different disciplines, from business, management, finance, real estate management, information technology, law, communications, translation, languages and art and culture. OUHK graduates, students and staff can get a ten per cent discount in fees for short courses. A 30 per cent senior citizens discount is available to students aged 65 or above. Teachers can also apply for half-fee refunds from the Education Department for selected courses in computing, languages, education and psychology. For enquiries please call 2768 5917 or 2789 5927. |
