More than $31,000
was raised from the charity sale in celebration of the Year of the Snake,
doubling the amount received last year. Staff members wrote New Year scrolls,
created lanterns, bookmarks and lucky pouches and made glutinous dumplings
and rice wine for sale. A student also donated handmade pottery in support
of the event. The donations will be used to set up bursaries for students
in need and inmate students.
