Newsbrief

Electronic Library becoming increasingly popular

The monthly hit rate against the OUHK's Electronic Library has been rising steadily over the last three years, from about 1,400 in November 1997 to slightly more than 200,000 in November 1998, with a peak of over 400,000 last year. According to a University-commissioned survey conducted among various professions late last year, over 60% of the respondents had a positive impression of the University's E-lib and two-thirds expressed interests in subscribing to its service. The University is considering giving the general public or some professions wider access to its E-Lib in the future.
