Ninth Congregation

The OUHK presented degree and diploma awards to more than 4,000 graduates at its Ninth Congregation held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre on 12 and 13 December last year, bringing the total number of graduates since 1993 to 15,000. The School of Business and Administration has the largest number of graduates including over 1,400 students in mainland China. Most of the mainland graduates are from the Master of Business Administration (Chinese) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration (Chinese) programmes.

Honorary doctorates were conferred on five distinguished persons at the congregation. They are (from left) Mr Raymond Kwok, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited; Prof. Louis Cha, celebrated literary figure; the Hon. Mrs Anson Chan, Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong SAR; Miss Gladys Li, renowned barrister; and Prof. Wei Yu, Chinese Vice-Minister of Education.


Mok Ting-bong is an MBA graduate. The OUHK now has 105 students with disabilities.

Paul Chao, aged 77, is the oldest OUHK graduate.

Of the 4,000-plus graduates last year, 15 were expatriates.
