Since July 2000, the University has been considering applications for setting up new student bodies and for funding for the period from October 2000 to September 2001. Over $150,000 has been allocated to the Alumni Association and seven student societies in supporting activities such as dragon boat training and races, football practices and matches, green tours, academic and interest workshops, top student sharing sessions and member recruitment exercises.

The deadline for this round of applications is 7 April. Students who are interested in organizing activities between June and September 2001 should contact the Student Affairs Office by phone (2768 6634) or email (regsao@ouhk.edu.hk) to get a Manual for Student Societies.
