Two visiting
fellows under the inter-university fellowship programme of the Asian Association
of Open Universities gave talks at the OUHK on 11 and 19 January respectively.
Ms Jayati Roy,
senior lecturer at the Mara University of Technology in Malaysia, discussed
the state of distance education in her country. Prof. Asha Kanwar (right),
former Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University
in India, shared with the audience her university's experiences of course
development. The OUHK holds the presidency and secretariat of the Association
until 2001. Both talks were hosted by the OUHK's Centre for Research in
Distance and Adult Learning.
