The curriculum of Statistics and Decision Science programmes is to provide students with a general level of undergraduate training of statistics and mathematics, and also gives students with an opportunity to develop problem-solving skills in dealing with a wide range of industry/business-oriented decision-making problems. The programme offers opportunities to study a list of non-mathematical courses including environmental control and monitoring, economic, accounting and financial decision in its honours-degree level. By selecting an elective option students will be equipped with specific knowledge to solve problems and make decisions in the elective field.

Suggested Entry Pathways to holders of Higher Diploma and Associate Degree

To enter the programme through pathway, a student shall normally possess a recognized Higher Diploma or Associate Degree (or equivalent) major related to science or engineering from a local tertiary institution recognized by the University for the purpose.

  1. Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Studies/Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematical Studies
  2. Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Decision Science /Bachelor of Science with Honours in Statistics and Decision Science

  Professional Recognition Hong Kong Statistical Society

The Hong Kong Statistical Society (HKSS) granted accreditation to OUHK statistical courses. Students will be granted the exemption from the Ordinary Certificate Examination and Higher Certificate Examination offered by the Hong Kong Statistical Society, if they have completed the required courses and achieved the required grade C+ or above.
