The first Admission Seminar of Statistical Analysis Programme will be held on 11 February 2017 (Saturday), at Room C0619, 3:30 to 5:30pm.

About the Programmes: The Bachelar of Science with Honours in Statistical Analysis and Data Science is a Top-up Year-3 entry full-time degree programme for holders of a Higher Diploma, Associate Degree in relevant disciplines, or those of equivalent qualifications at Higher Diploma or Associate Degree level with relevance to the programme. This programme was formerly known as Bachelor of Science with Honours in Statistical Analysis up to intake year 2016.

This program emphasizes on Quantitative data analysis and data management using statistical software SPSS, SAS, Minitab etc. The SAS software will also be provided to students to work at home.

Programme Aims: The programme aims to provide university-level training to enable students to develop an understanding on statistical data analysis; quantitative skills; and mathematical techniques for business and investment analysis, quantitative survey and research, financial management and analysis. Graduates of this programme will have the competence to take up jobs in bank, financial and business analysis, marketing research, statistical service agencies, government and education sectors.

This programmes will provides with a series of training in using quantitative software SAS and SPSS.

Length of Study:  Top-up BSc(Hons) degree in Statistical Analysis and Data Science completes in 2-years full-time. This Top-up programme also offers 9 months Early Exit option to graduates with an Ordinary Degree in Statistical Analysis and Data Science. 

Completion Time:

Students have the option of an early exit at Ordinary Degree in Statistical Analysis and Data Science on completion of courses at Year-3 worth 40 credits within about 9 months (two terms of study). In addition to the Ordinary Degree, students may choose to complete another 40 credits to obtain an Honours Degree within about 20 months (4 terms of study).

HK Statistical Society Professional Exemption:  
The OUHK degree in Statistical Analysis has been accredited by the Hong Kong Statistical Society(HKSS). The Modules 1, 3 and 4 have been exempted from its Professional Graduate Diploma if the student has successfully completed the following assigned courses with Grade C or above. Hong Kong Statistical Society.

Degree Award by OUHK: The degree will be awarded by Open University of Hong Kong. The degree of conferment is issued bearing the name of 'Open University of Hong Kong' to students who have satisfied programme requirement.

Study Locations: All classes will be held in OUHK comps.

Internship Opportunity: Internship opportunities are available for students to develop technical and administrative skills through participation in works in order to complement their educational experience.

The application period begins in Feb of the year. The admission deadline for the 1st-round is by Mid March, the deadline of the 3th-round (final) is by early August.
