In addition to knowledge building by carrying out research and development projects relevant to innovative and flexible learning, the Centre is actively involved in organizating international academic conferences on innovations in learning and teaching.
 
International Conference on Open and Innovative Education

The International Conference on Open and Innovative Education (ICOIE) focuses primarily on exploring which of the latest technologies and innovations can facilitate further development of open learning towards a more flexible and personalized mode of education catering for the diverse needs of different learning communities and how these technologies can do so. The conference series has been renamed from International Conference on Open and Flexible Education (ICOFE), with the OUHK’s establishment of the Institute for Research in Open and Innovative Education (http://iropine.ouhk.edu.hk/) in 2016. Symposium on Open and Innovative Education

The Symposium on Open and Innovative Education aims to bring together scholars in relevant fields around the globe for addressing prominent issues, exchanging research ideas, and exploring collaboration. The Symposium features keynotes delivered by renowned scholars to present the latest developments of open education, technology-enhanced learning and learning analytics. Relevant researchers also share their research findings and innovative practices. Discussion forums are held to exchange views on opportunities and challenges in the field.

International Conference on Technology in Education

The International Conference on Technology in Education (ICTE) aims to serve as a platform for relevant academic exchanges across higher education institutions, focusing especially on sharing of good practices and results from studies. It is co-organized by the Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), the School of Professional and Continuing Education of the University of Hong Kong (HKU SPACE), and Caritas Institute of Higher Education (CIHE).
