Windows Log On and Shut Down Procedures (for Students and Tutors)

A. Log on
(a) Power on the PC, and then select one of options at Reborn Card menu to boot into your desired Windows system.

(b) When logon screen appears (here is using Windows 7 as an example):
  1. enter your user ID in the “User name” box;
  2. enter your OUHK Single Password in the “Password” box;
  3. press Enter key, or click the Right Arrow icon next to “Password” box to start the log on process.

  • For student: your user ID is the lower case letter "s" followed by the first 7 digits of your student number.  For example, if your student number is “12345678”, your user name is therefore “s1234567".
  • For tutor: your user ID is the letter "t" followed by the 6 digits of your tutor number.  For example, if your tutor number is “123456”, your user name is therefore “t123456".

      Note: In case you forget your password and secret answer, please refer the steps in section
      "What should I do if I forget my password?"

(c) After successfully log on, several popup message boxes will be displayed in sequence to provide necessary information for you.

(d) Remember to save your files to your own storage media at all time.  ITU is not responsible for any loss of data saved in the PC.

B. Shut Down
(a) When you are finished using the PC, click “Shut down” to turn it off for protecting your data privacy.

(b) Do not simply unplug the PC or force power down by pressing the power button, otherwise your account may be locked.

(c) Before leaving, remember to get back your own storage media such as disc or USB flash drive.
