Q1. E-Library access problem.

Q1.1 Why can't I login the 'E-Reserve' ?

 Q1.1.1 Either your pc's date, time or time zone is incorrect.
 Q1.1.2 Your login ID or password is incorrect.

Q1.1.1 Incorrect date, time or time zone setting

Incorrect date, time and time zone setting may result in same login screen appears after input username and password. Be sure that the date, time setting is correct and the time zone should be pointed to(GMT+8:00 BEIJING, CHONGQING, HONG KONG, URUMQI).

 

 

 

Q1.1.2 Login ID password for the "E-Reserve".

- For student, your login ID is "s" + first 7 digits of your student number. Your initial password is HKID without the digit in brackets.

- For tutor, your login ID is "t" + your tutor ID. Your initial password is HKID without the digit in brackets.

- For staff, your login ID is your e-mail logon name, password is your HKID without the digit in brackets.

- For those who do not have HKID card should use your passport no. Your initial password is  "pp" + first 5 digits of your passport no. e.g. your passport no. is 1234567, your password is pp12345.

- For OUHK Mainland Programme student, your login ID is "s" + first 7 digits of student number. Your password is the first character of the surname plus the first character of the first name plus birthday in "yymmdd" format, e.g. your name is Zhen Xia Bou and birthday is 12 October 1970, and then your password is zx701012.

- All letters must be in lower case.

- To use the same password for E-Library and other online services of the University, you are recommended to set your own single password. Check details at: OUHK homepage (http://www.ouhk.edu.hk) ->

Q2.1 What are the configure parameters for setting up FTP?

Host = learn.ouhk.edu.hk (for tutor only)
Host = ucourse.ouhk.edu.hk/du10.ouhk.edu.hk (for student only)

Q2.2 What are logon ID & default password?   

Tutor: username = "t" + tutor number.
student: username = "s" + first 7 digits of your student ID.

Default password = HKID no. without check digit.

 

 

Q2.3.1 Why can't I browse the webpage after upload?

  1. Your work was not put into right place.
  2. No permission to access.

 

 

Q2.3.2 Why is that the hyper link doesn't work anymore after upload?

The problem may be due to the path you have specified is invalid. You can check by browsing that webpage and pointing to that link to check whether the link is correct.

 

 

Q2.3.3 Why is that some of the image files cannot display on the browser after upload?

The problem may be due to the path your have specified is invalid. You can check by browsing that webpage and right clicking that image file to check whether the path is correct.
