Up and Rising: Master's Degree, Postgraduate Degree and Postgraduate Diploma Offered by the Open University of Hong Kong
The OUHK offers a variety of postgraduate programmes in full-time and part-time modes: Master's Degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate.
The Open University of Hong Kong first established in 1989 as a provider of distance education. With a mission to be a leader in providing open and flexible education to all, and to excel as a provider of quality higher education, the university started to offer full-time programmes in 2001. Programmes today include undergraduate degree, postgraduate and master's degree, postgraduate diploma and postgraduate certificate. All taught by experts from the field, the programmes spark inspiration for students with interest of a particular area of study.
Postgraduate degree programmes of the Open University of Hong Kong are offered in both full-time and part-time modes to suit individual study needs. Master's Degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate will be awarded upon graduation. Studying in postgraduate degree programmes expands knowledge of students in the expertise and thus boosts chances of employment and competitiveness. The postgraduate degree programmes, including Master's Degree, Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate, are widely recognised by different organisations, corporations and institutional bodies.
Students have wide choices of the preferred topic of study in postgraduate degree. In terms of Arts and Social Sciences, topics such as Humanities, Languages and Translation are traditional courses that have a long history of education. The university also engages in professional training of master degree talents in Creative Arts, Creative Industries and Cultural Assets to respond to the growing demand of cultural activities and the relevant preservation in Hong Kong and worldwide.
Another major scope of study of the postgraduate and master degree students is Business and Administration. In view of the ever-changing and dynamic global economic situation, needs for experts of area such as Accounting and Finance, Corporate Governance, Global Business and Marketing have been soaring. The university also offers Master Degree of Professional Management in Digital Business (MPMDBF) which provides specialized knowledge and practical skills to cope with the smart development blueprints for Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Quantitative Analysis and Computational Mathematics is also another highlight of the postgraduate degree programme. It is a face-to-face part-time Postgraduate Diploma programme that keeps students abreast of the rapid growth in areas of analysis including Computer Algebra and Simulations, Computational Methods for Risk Analysis and Decision Making, Quantitative Methods for Decision Analysis, Multivariate and Time Series Analysis and more.
All postgraduate degree programmes including Master's Degree, Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate welcome both local and non-local students to register. First round application for the Autumn Term of 2020/21 is currently opened. Interested applicants may observe the general entry requirements, English language proficiency requirements and programme-specific entry requirements. Students who are eligible for individual programme may observe the application procedures and apply online with an easy portal. Second round of application will be starting from 1st February 2020.
