Aims

This programme is designed to provide high quality education in theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in various aspects of accounting for those who wish to pursue or further advance their careers in business.

Objectives

On successful completion of the programme, students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the following aspects of business administration:
    1. Accounting
    2. Business information systems;
    3. Business law;
    4. Economics;
    5. Marketing;
    6. Management; and
    7. Quantitative methods.
  2. Communication information effectively.
  3. Critically review theories of accounting and apply the requirements of financial reporting standards in the preparation of financial reports for external stakeholders, and equip with the capability of analyzing these financial reports.
  4. Apply managerial accounting and financial management theories and techniques to internal planning and control, and use relevant financial information for making business decisions.
  5. Apply the taxation and company laws which govern corporations and individuals.
  6. Evaluate the nature and objectives of audit and auditing practices.
  7. Exercise appropriate judgment when analyzing and handling complicated business decisions by applying information system concepts and advanced management accounting techniques.
  8. Apply and integrate knowledge in business and accounting to analyzing and formulating management policy and strategy of an organization.
