Yuen-Ming LAI is an independent filmmaker, sound designer, musician and creative writer. Her works touch vital social issues in a variety forms and media, including film, video, music and text.
Ms Lai received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hong Kong with double majors in Chinese Literature and Music. She then furthered her study in The Baptist University of Hong Kong for a master degree and was granted a Master of Arts (with Distinction) in Music Technology. Afterward, she was admitted to study in Beijing Film Academy and was granted a Master of Fine Art in Film Directing.
Ms Lai is a senior lecturer in Creative Arts at The Open University of Hong Kong and currently working on her PhD in the School of Modern Language and Cultural Studies, The University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on Cinematic Sound Studies in Hong Kong.
