Biography

Dr K C Li is the Director of Research, in charge of the University Research Centre, overseeing research activities and promotes institutional research and development.

For more than 20 years, Dr Li has devoted to open education and related development, for which he has played many roles (e.g. course developer, course development coordinator, strand leader, programme leader, course coordinator and tutor). He is committed to the provision of quality education and enhancement of learning effectiveness through a variety of modes (e.g. distance learning, face-to-face learning, online learning, and blended learning). He has led teaching programmes in the disciplines of business, education and language studies.

Dr Li has earned three bachelor’s degrees, four master’s degrees and a PhD from renowned institutions, including the University of Hong Kong, Peking University and the University of London. He has also been awarded many professional qualifications such as Diploma in Education, Advanced Diploma in Translation, and Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.

Being keenly interested in research in innovative education and university education modes, Dr Li has successfully obtained funding for a large number of research and development projects.

For the Asian Association of Open Universities, Dr Li also served as the Secretary-General for three years from 2014, actively promoting professional development and facilitating professional exchanges in open and distance education for the institutional members of the Association.

Di Li has organized many international conferences in areas of open/flexible education and technology-mediated education. He has been invited to many conferences and professional events as keynote and plenary speakers.
