    Biography

    Upon graduating from UC Berkeley with double-majors in Film and Mass Communications and USC MFA in Cinema and TV Productions respectively in the mid-90s, David joined The Film Workshop found by Tsui Hark and Nansun Shi as Creative Assistant and Scriptwriter. During his time there, David participated in films, TVC and directed TV programs. In 1998, David joined the new School of Creative Media of City University as one of the founding faculty members. He had taught there as Assistant Professor for the next 13 years, during which David had co-directed with Director Ann Hui on documentary project for The Cultural Heritage Museum of Hong Kong and co-founded independent movie website with Director Hou Hsiao-Hsien. David had also written, directed and produced a number of TV programs in drama and animation categories with funding from RTHK and Arts Development Council of Hong Kong. Other production credits included online cartoon series as Writer/ Director. David had been Creative Consultant in Next Media Group, TV Bean and Hong Kong Spirit Ambassadors. Since 2002, David has been appointed as Subject Specialist in Digital Media by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications and External Examiner by the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority since 2012. In addition to teaching storytelling and media production subjects, David currently serves as the Program Leader of the BFA in Animation and Visual Effects and BA in Computing and Interactive Entertainment.
