Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP)
 
The Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions / Sectors (SSSDP) is a new subsidy scheme initiated by the HKSAR Government to subsidise about 1,000 students per cohort to pursue designated full-time locally-accredited self-financing undergraduate programmes in selected disciplines to nurture talents to meet Hong Kong's social and economic needs.
 
Only six self-financing institutions are included in SSSDP for the 2017/18 academic year and the OUHK is one of the six institutions. Its four professional programmes with 350 places will receive subsidy in 2017/18 academic year. They are:
Starting from 2018/19 academic year, the Scheme would be regularized and more OUHK programmes have been selected, covering a wider range of academic disciplines including financial technology, creative arts and film arts, and sports management. The number of subsidized places offered by the University has been significantly increased to 1,040, benefiting more local students.
