Medium of Instruction: Cantonese supplemented with English terminology as appropriate (Course material and assessment are in English and/or Chinese)



This programme provides participants with knowledge to produce professional quality image and provides critical skills in commercial photography with a strong emphasis on fieldwork and practical problem-solving skills.

Aims

The updated programme aims to equip students with the essential professional knowledge and critical skills necessary to work in the commercial photography industry.

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize a range of mechanical and electronic cameras and equipment, and use the general photo taking techniques to produce pictures;
  • Apply mechanical and electronic techniques to produce and edit photo and film;
  • Apply different visual design principles and techniques to express ideas in creation;
  • Use specialized photographic techniques in various settings to produce photographic work; and
  • Evaluate visual images from the aesthetic, functional and technical aspects.
