Upon completion of the programme, students should be able to:
Recognize a range of mechanical and electronic cameras and equipment, and use the general photo taking techniques to produce pictures;
Apply mechanical and electronic techniques to produce and edit photo and film;
Apply different visual design principles and techniques to express ideas in creation;
Use specialized photographic techniques in various settings to produce photographic work; and
Evaluate visual images from the aesthetic, functional and technical aspects.

Anyone who is interested in photography.
Graduates of DA009 Professional Diploma in Commercial Photography may apply for articulation to Year 3 of Middlesex Unviersity's BA (Hons) Photography (study at Middlesex's UK campus). Applications to Middlesex shall be processed by Middlesex University's East Asia Regional Office - Hong Kong.
Applicants are normally required to meet either one of the following requirements:
5 subjects in HKDSE (including English language) at level 2 or equivalent; or
Diploma Yi Jin; or
5 passes in HKCEE (including English at level 2 or grade E) or equivalent plus one year of working experience; or
Yi Jin Certificate plus 1 year of working experience; or
Mature applicants aged 21 or above with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience may also be considered..
Students are required to have an overall pass in the assessment of the programme. The passing mark is 50%.
A “Professional Diploma in Commercial Photography” will be issued by LiPACE to those students who have successfully completed the whole programme.
Exemption may be granted for individual courses if the applicant has successfully completed a course of comparable content and standard at a recognized tertiary institution. Students are strongly advised to make the exemption application before they commence studying the programme. In any circumstances, exemptions are only granted up to a maximum of 50% of the courses.
A non-refundable application fee of $300 per course is charged.
