    1.          What is the Single-Password Service?

     

    It is a service that can update your passwords in different secure OUHK online services. Besides, with the Single Password you have created, you can log in to MyOUHK, where you can gain access to all online services without having to log in again.

     

     

    2.          What is the Single-Sign-On Service (SSO)?

     

    Single-Sign-On (SSO) is now integrated as one of the many useful features of MyOUHK. When you log in just once, this service can automatically log in on behalf of the user whenever the user chooses to use a secure OUHK online service such as the Electronic Library or the Online Learning Environment. Before you can use the Single-Sign-On, you should create a Single Password.

     

     

    3.          Who can use the Single-Sign-On Service?  

     

    Staff, tutors and students are eligible to use SSO after the creation of a Single Password.  Applications that are accessible by SSO vary from user to user.  It depends on the access authorization given to a user from various servicing units.

     

     

    4.          Who can use the Single-Password Service?

     

    Staff, tutors and students are eligible to use Single-Password.

     

     

    5.          What is necessary for using the Single-Sign-On Service?

     

    The Single-Sign-On Service is now integrated as one of the many useful features of MyOUHK. To log in to MyOUHK and experience the convenience of the Single-Sign-On service, you just need to create a new Single Password. 

     

     

    6.          What OUHK online services are currently supported by the Single-Password and Single-sign-on Service?

     

    Currently we are offering the following services under Single-Password and Single-Sign-On.  A continuous effort to integrate most secure OUHK online services is being made.  Please check back here regularly for latest updates.

    • MyOUHK
    • eServices in the OUHK Website
    • Online Learning Environment
    • E-Library
    • Outlook/Exchange (Staff only)

     

    7.          How do I use the Single-Password Service?

     

    To create your Single Password, go to the OUHK homepage at http://www.ouhk.edu.hk and click on 'Students', 'Alumni', 'Staff' or 'Tutors'. 

     

    Student Web Site -> Communication & Support -> Single Password Management

     

    Staff Web Site -> Communication & Support -> Create Your Single Password

     

    Tutor Web Site -> Support -> Create Your Single Password

     

     

    8.          How to use the Single-Sign-On Service?

    To use Single-Sign-On, go to the OUHK homepage, and click 'Students', 'Alumni', 'Staff' or 'Tutors'. At the upper left-hand corner of the page, you will see 'Login to MyOUHK' with a Username box and a Password box. Enter your Username and your Single Password, and press 'Enter'. For enhanced security, you can choose the option for 'More secure login'. After you have logged in, the MyOUHK page will appear. Single-Sign-On is automatically activated for secure OUHK online services.  You do not need to retype your Username and Single Password when accessing these services.

     

    9.          How do I change my password?

    If you want to change your password, you will need to create a new Single Password.  This will replace your previous password(s).  Follow the instructions given in question number 7 - How do I use the Single-Password Service?

    11.      What should I do if I forget my password?

     

    OUHK Students

    If you have forgotten your password, you can change a new password using "Forget Password" function in Single Password Management.

     

    OUHK Tutors

    If you have forgotten your password, you will need to create your Single Password again.

     

    Mainland OUHK Students/Tutors

    If you have forgotten your password, you can call our Technical Hotline at 2711-2100 or email to ituhelp@ouhk.edu.hk for assistance.

     

    OUHK Staff

    If you have forgotten your password, you can call our Technical Hotline at 2768-6523 or email to ituhelp@ouhk.edu.hk for assistance.

     

     

    12.      Where can I get help on using Single-Sign-On?

     

    Please refer to the FAQ and answers on this page. This page will be updated regularly. Staff may also contact our IT Helpdesk (extension 6523) for assistance. Students can call our technical support hotline 2711-2100 or email to ituhelp@ouhk.edu.hk.

     

     

    13.      Do I need to get / create the Single-Password again every semester?

     

    Students or Tutors do not require to re-new password at start of every semester but you are recommended to change your password regularly.

     

     

    14.      How can I protect my confidentiality after logging out from MyOUHK?

     

    After using a service, you should logout the service. In particular, after logout MyOUHK, you should close all web browsers to protect your personal information.

     

     

    15.      I have started taking OU courses again after of a lapse of several semesters. I have already set my own student password. Is the password still valid? Do I have to get the Single Password?

     

    You should still be able to use your Single Password to login MyOUHK. But, your user account in some systems (e.g. eLibrary) will be reset. Thus, you are recommended to change your Single Password.

     

     

    16.      Why am I getting a "The page you are looking for is temporarily unavailable" message?

     

    If you receive this message, it indicates that it might be network timeout or no response from server. You can press web browser "Refresh" button, or try again later.
