Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989 as a provider of distance education, OUHK began offering full-time face-to-face degree programmes in 2001. Today we have over 9,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time students in the four Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies.  In addition, there are about 2,500 full-time/part-time students studying in LiPACE.

Part-time Research Assistant / Research Support Assistant (Ref: 17-PTRA/RSUPA-281-J)
 
For Research Project “Round number biases, buy-sell imbalances and transaction time: The international evidence” (R6184)
 
Duties
The appointee will be required to perform:
  1. literature review;
  2. data collection from Bloomberg and other online sources;
  3. data organization and statistical analysis; and 
  4. other duties in areas related to the research project.
 
Requirements
Applicants should have a recognized bachelor’s degree. If not available, applicants may be appointed as the Research Support Assistant. 
 
Applicants should also have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese and preferably be able to effectively use statistical software such as Stata. Those with research experience and a master degree would have an advantage.
 
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time fixed term contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions. Appointment of the Part-time Research Assistant / Research Support Assistant will initially be made starting from September 2017 for about 3 months with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability. The appointee shall be required to work not more than 17 hours per week during the period of his/her appointment. The working days and hours shall be agreed between the appointee and the project investigator.
