The University
Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989 as a provider of distance education, OUHK began offering full-time face-to-face degree programmes in 2001.  Over the years we have grown into a leader in open and flexible education in the Asia Pacific region, and our full-time face-to-face programmes for qualified secondary school leavers are on par with other established universities across Hong Kong.  OUHK today is a young, dynamic, full-fledged university.

Today we have over 9,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time students in the four Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies.  In addition, there are about 2,500 full-time/part-time students studying in LiPACE.
 
Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education (LiPACE)
As one of the five academic units of the OUHK, the LiPACE is a dynamic, market-oriented and fast growing continuing education provider.  With the mission of promoting life-long learning, the LiPACE offers a variety of flexible and high-quality educational opportunities, with an emphasis on face-to-face teaching, to the public for personal development, career advancement and appreciation of life.  These include professional and training programmes, full-time programmes (e.g. Diploma Yi Jin, Diploma and Higher Diploma), full-time/part-time degree and masters programmes in collaboration with overseas institutions, and the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (a flexible learning project designed to equip women with a positive mindset and develop their potentials) in collaboration with the Women’s Commission.

Programme Officer (Business) (Ref: 17-PO-241-J)
 
Duties
The appointee is responsible for the following duties:
  1. To assist in programme/course planning, development, coordination and delivery;
  2. To support the Institute’s operations;
  3. To participate in Institute/University activities and;
  4. To undertake classroom teaching, where necessary.
 
Requirements
Applicants are required to possess the following:
  1. A relevant recognised Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline, preferably a higher degree with professional qualifications in such subject areas;
  2. Relevant professional experience in the related subject areas and/or teaching/administration experience in tertiary/continuing education and experience in working on corporate training and tender proposals are preferred;
  3. Good written communication skills as well as interpersonal and organizational skills and;
  4. Proficiency in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua).
 
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract.  Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits, life insurance coverage and gratuity, where applicable.
