    The University
    Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989 as a provider of distance education, OUHK began offering full-time face-to-face degree programmes in 2001.  Over the years we have grown into a leader in open and flexible education in the Asia Pacific region, and our full-time face-to-face programmes for qualified secondary school leavers are on par with other established universities across Hong Kong.  OUHK today is a young, dynamic, full-fledged university.

    Today we have over 9,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time students in the four Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies.  In addition, there are about 2,500 full-time/part-time students studying in LiPACE.
     
    Li Ka Shing Institute of Professional & Continuing Education (LiPACE)
    As one of the five academic units of the OUHK, the LiPACE is a dynamic, market-oriented and fast growing continuing education provider.  With the mission of promoting life-long learning, the LiPACE offers a variety of flexible and high-quality educational opportunities, with an emphasis on face-to-face teaching, to the public for personal development, career advancement and appreciation of life.  These include professional and training programmes, full-time programmes (e.g. Diploma Yi Jin, Diploma and Higher Diploma), full-time/part-time degree and masters programmes in collaboration with overseas institutions, and the Capacity Building Mileage Programme (a flexible learning project designed to equip women with a positive mindset and develop their potentials) in collaboration with the Women’s Commission.
     
    We are now inviting application(s) for the following post in the LiPACE:
     
    Assistant Academic Service Officer (Ref: 17-AASO-269-J)
     
    Duties
    The appointee is responsible for the following duties:
    1. To provide customer service and borrowing services at help desk in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) or other areas;
    2. To monitor the LRC and record daily usage;
    3. To assist the daily operations and facilities support of the Administrative Unit;
    4. To provide basic technical support of equipment to facilitate meeting or classes;
    5. To provide daily support of student photocopiers, such as data uploading, paper filling and basic trouble-shooting and;
    6. May work on shift for ad hoc duties, if necessary.
     
    Requirements
    Applicants are required to possess the following:
    1. At least 5 subjects with Level 2 in HKDSE or equivalent, including English & Chinese languages and Mathematics, preferably with a recognized degree;
    2. Good communication skills in English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua) and computer skills and;
    3. Good IT/AV knowledge will be an advantage.
     
    Terms of Appointment
    Successful candidate will be appointed on a full-time fixed term contract.  Fringe benefits will include annual leave, medical & dental benefits and life insurance coverage, where applicable.
