Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989 as a provider of distance education, OUHK began offering full-time face-to-face degree programmes in 2001. Over the years we have grown into a leader in open and flexible education in the Asia Pacific region, and our full-time face-to-face programmes for qualified secondary school leavers are on par with other established universities across Hong Kong. OUHK today is a young, dynamic, full-fledged university.

Today we have over 9,500 full-time and 10,000 part-time students in the four Schools at the OUHK with about 220 programmes of studies.  In addition, there are about 2,500 full-time/part-time students studying in LiPACE.
We are now inviting application for the following post in the School of Science & Technology:
Part-time Project Assistant (Ref.: 17-PTRA-270-J)
At the rank of Part-time Research Assistant
The appointee is required to perform the following duties:
  1. To establish laboratory quality management system;
  2. To prepare and administer documents and calibrate instrument; and
  3. To provide assistance in other areas related to the research project.
Applicants are required to possess the following:
  1. Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or Engineering;
  2. Investigative nature with good analytical skills;
  3. Good communication skills in both English and Chinese (preferably including Putonghua);
  4. Ability to work independently; and
  5. At least 3 years’ relevant working experience (at least 1 year in the HOKLAS accredited laboratory).
Terms of Appointment
Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part time fixed term contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
