Overview

During the five years of study, students will need to complete 200 credits from theoretical courses and practicum.

Theoretical Courses (160 credits)

1. Professional-specific courses (130 credits) - They cover a wide variety of subject areas including human anatomy and physiology, behavioural sciences, health assessment, clinical nursing, health promotion, primary health care, Chinese and alternative medicinal nursing, nursing research, nursing theories, nursing ethics, nursing management, legal aspects of nursing, health care system and health care policies.

2. English Language courses (10 credits)

3. General education courses (20 credits)

Practicum (40 credits) - The practicum exposes students to the clinical environment in hospitals and other health care settings. Face-to-face supervised practice and coaching takes place to assist students to gain clinical competence.

Language of Instruction

The language of instruction is mainly English. However, some courses such as “Chinese and Alternative Medicinal Nursing 中醫及另類醫療護理學” and other courses under the category of general education will be taught in Chinese.
