▊Preparations for studying in Hong Kong

Prior to leaving for Hong Kong, students need to prepare and pay attention to the following matters:
  • Student visa for study in Hong Kong

  • Admission documents for the OUHK LiPACE

  • Travel insurance (if applicable) and other insurance documents

  • Cash to pay for the cost of living in Hong Kong

  • Passport photos for applying relevant documents

  • Clothing suitable for the Hong Kong's climate

  • Daily necessities

▊Student Visa

LiPACE will assist admitted students to apply for a Hong Kong Study Visa. The Hong Kong Immigration Department normally takes 6-8 weeks to process a visa / permit for study upon receipt of all the required documents. ▊Accommodation

OUHK LiPACE does not provide hall of residence but provides leasing of accommodation information to admitted students if necessary. To lease a 2-room apartment nearby our Institute approximately costs HK$14,000 to HK$18,000 per month.

▊Reporting to the OUHK LiPACE

Orientation and other related activities for new students will be scheduled in early September. New students should make travel arrangements and arrive in Hong Kong in late August or early September. Detailed information on orientation will be provided in due course.

▊Financial matters

Upon arrival, students are advised to open a bank account to handle their finance matters. Identification documents such as passport are required to open a bank account.

▊Medical service

Upon successful application of a Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID), non-local students are eligible for public health care provided by the Hong Kong Government. Depending on individual needs, students can consider buying health insurance for the whole period of stay before arriving Hong Kong.

▊Currency exchange

Student can exchange foreign currency according to the daily exchange rates at any banks or money exchange shops in Hong Kong.
