General Structure
During the four years of study, students will need to complete 160 credits of courses, comprising 45 credits prescribed concentration courses; 15 credits of Investigating Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Business Issues and Ethics; 10 credits business electives from courses within the Accounting, Banking & Finance and Management concentrations and 20 credits Purpose-Designed General Education Courses from fields of study which are different from those of their programmes.
In the era of globalization, business opportunities are inevitably increasing around the world. The School is committed to preparing students for the challenges in the international business environment. In view of this, a Global Immersion Programme will be held to provide students with opportunities to study and travel abroad, be exposed to the language of global business, engage with global issues and eventually become empowered global citizens. This programme is compulsory.
Major
There are 70 credits of core courses and 45 credits of prescribed concentration courses in the major area of study. The core courses in the first two years of study cover a wide variety of subject areas in business communication, economics, business law, quantitative methods, business information systems, financial management, financial accounting, marketing and management. These are essential to a professional accountant.
In the third and fourth years of study, students will study advanced courses in financial reporting, taxation, auditing, advanced management accounting and accounting information systems. In addition, students will study a course in business issues and ethics and a course in investigating entrepreneurial opportunities.
