As a student of the A-Team student development programme, the School encourages us not only to focus on our academic studies, but to take opportunities to learn more outside the classroom. In my first term of my second year, I joined five different competitions. In the QP Case Analysis Competition and the ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition, I got many opportunities to learn more about the business industry and how others solve business-related issues.

Apart from academic case competitions, I also joined Hong Kong Federation of Business Students (HKFBS) which is the only organization in Hong Kong that helps organize activities that encourage the development of all business students in Hong Kong. This experience gave me an opportunity to work with other business undergraduate students of other local universities.

The School nominated me for a summer internship in one of the big four accounting firms, PwC this year. During this three-month internship, I gained a lot of insight into the business world and also the accounting industry, which strengthened my determination in my future career in the accounting field. My internship experience in the Assurance Practice has definitely helped me build up my understanding of the business.

If it was not from the continuous encouragement of the A-Team teachers, I wouldn’t have the confidence and determination to try out different things. The programme definitely pushed me and prepared me to be a stronger and more goal-oriented person.
