In the face of the rampant COVID-19 pandemic, our School organised the “Fight the Virus in Unity and Love 2020” activity in April. A total of 4,000 “anti-epidemic goody bags” comprising such anti-epidemic items as surgical face masks, alcohol-based handrubs, disinfectant wet tissues, and the health information leaflets specially designed by OU nursing students themselves were prepared and donated to St James’ Settlement and five nursing homes for the elderly, who would pass them to disadvantaged groups such as patients with chronic diseases, people in rehabilitation, low-income people and the elderly. President Professor Wong Yuk Shan, Provost Professor Kwan Ching Ping, Reggie, Vice President (Resources and Development) Professor Lui Yu Hon, Vice President (Student Affairs and Support) Professor Tong Chong Sze, Acting Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies Professor Lee Yin King, Linda, and a team of students and alumni took part in the activity to assist in packing the face masks. |
