Application Procedure


Application Methods

Applicants can submit their applications by one of the following methods:

  1. On-line Application (Click here to online application platform)
    Applicants can upload supporting documents (e.g. HKID/ Passport, Academic Qualification and Working Experience) online.

  2. E-APP (Electronic Advance Application System for Post-secondary Programmes on iPASS):
    (Applicable for 2019 HKDSE candidates who apply for full-time sub-degree programmes only)

  3. Paper Application (Click here to download the application form)
    The completed application form with a set of photocopies of academic qualifications, copy of HKID card and proofs of work experience (if any) should be sent to the following address by mail or in person.

Application Fee

The fee for application to full-time Sub-degree and Diploma programmes is

  • Local applicants:HK$300

  • Non-local applicants*:HK$515

The fee paid is non-refundable and non-transferable unless the programme applied is subsequently cancelled.
Application fee can be made by:

  1. On-line application: by credit card (Visa, MasteCard or UnionPay) or online PPS through the School’s online application platform.

  2. For E-App application: confirmation email with payment method will be received after application submitted; and then direct deposit or ATM transfer at any branch of the Hang Seng Bank (Account number: 024-262-269269-002)

  3. Paper Application:

    1. direct deposit or ATM transfer at any branch of the Hang Seng Bank (Account number: 024-262-269269-002); or

    2. a cheque payable to “The Open University of Hong Kong”.

Applicants are advised to keep a photocopy of any payment receipt or any bank transaction record as proof of payment. The application will only be processed when the application fee is paid.
Applicants submitting paper applications are required to mark their full name on the original customer copy of the Deposit Slip or the ATM advice or the cheque and stick it onto the application form.

* Non-local Students
According to the EDB, NON-LOCAL STUDENTS, for the purpose of admission to post-secondary programmes, are defined as follows:
The student is a holder of the following documents issued by the Immigration Department of the HKSAR:
a. Student visa / entry permit;
b. visa / entry permit under the Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates; or
c. dependant visa / entry permit who were 18 years old or above when they were issued with such visa / entry permit by the Director of Immigration.

The definition of non-local students will be adopted for admission, application fee, tuition fee, scholarships, subsidies, programmes and any other education-related areas.
