^ This programme is subsidized by the government under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP). In academic year 2021/22, local students enrolling in the subsidized places of the programme will receive an annual subsidy up to $38,400.

Technology is enabling the fashion industry to grow in new direction with reduced lead time from concept to product and market launch

In this regard, industry players are adopting new approaches to fashion design and production, such as virtual sampling, rapid prototyping and personalisation/customised production (McKinsey and BOF Report 2019)
The programme aims to foster a creative mindset and equip students with technical competencies for the creation of fashion-related products. Through the digital approach of fashion design and creation, students will be able to learn and practice skills in:
- Digital pattern making for fashion
- Digital pattern cutting for fashion
- Virtual fashion show

Objectives
Upon completion of the programme, participants should be able to :

Apply various techniques of digital fashion technology in the design and development process;

Review and analyze the development of global fashion industry, emerging trends and business prospects;

Develop patterns and prototypes which meet the requirements of digital fashion creation; and

Present fashion collection and portfolio in a professional manner using digital technology.

Entry Requirement
Applicants are normally required to have either one of the following qualifications:
-
Level 2 in 5 HKDSE subjects (including English and Chinese)^; or
-
Grade E in 1 HKALE A-Level (or an equivalent number of AS) subject(s); and
(i) 5 passes in HKCEE including English and Chinese*; or
(ii) 3 passes in HKCEE plus level 2 or above in English and Chinese*; or
-
Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Associate Degree, Diploma or an equivalent programme (at QF level 3);
-
Satisfactory completion of Diploma Yi Jin ; or
-
Other acceptable equivalent qualifications (including non-local qualifications obtained in or outside HK, or other qualifications / experience deemed to be equivalent); or
-
Mature applicants who are 21 years of age or above with a minimum of 3 years' working experience will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
^Applicants possessing an “Attained”, "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subject are regarded as equivalent to HKDSE subject at “Level 2”, “Level 3” and “Level 4” respectively, with a maximum of two ApL subjects can be counted for admission purpose.
* A pass in a quality-assured Applied Learning (ApL) subject is deemed to be a pass in one HKCEE subject. (Except Chinese Language and English Language)

[1] Students who have attained Level 3 or above in DSE English Language can be exempted from taking English for Communication I.
[2] Non-Chinese speaking students can be exempted from taking Effective Chinese Communication Skills. They will have to take a GE course as replacement for fulfilment of the overall credits for graduation.

Graduates may pursue a career as junior fashion designer, fashion product developer, 3D fashion designer, digital fashion technologist or fashion graphic designer.

Students from Higher Diploma in Digital Fashion Creation visited Hong Kong Design Center and 3 fashion designers (Mass Luciano, Kevin Ho, Jay Ching) studios and exchanged ideas on latest fashion industry.
