Established by the Hong Kong Government in 1989, The Open University of Hong Kong today is the largest self-financing university in Hong Kong and has developed into a dynamic, innovative, full-fledged university comprising 6 Schools.
The University began offering full-time programmes since 2001 and joined the Joint University Programmes Admission System (JUPAS) since 2007. Currently, the University offers about 200 programmes of studies with over 10,000 full-time and 9,000 part-time students in its 5 Schools namely School of Arts and Social Sciences, Lee Shau Kee School of Business and Administration, School of Education and Languages, School of Nursing and Health Studies and School of Science and Technology. In addition, there are about 2,000 full-time and 3,000 part-time students studying in Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (LiPACE).

We are now inviting application(s) for the following post(s) in the Public and Social Policy Research Centre of the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
Part-time Research Support Assistants
Job: Temporary/Part-time Non-Academic
School/Unit: School of Arts and Social Sciences

The appointees shall mainly be responsible for the following:
compiling data and research findings;
providing assistance in areas related to research projects; and
performing any other duties as assigned to support the operation of the Public and Social Policy Research Centre.
Applicants are expected to possess the following qualifications, experience and attributes:
full-time undergraduates of the University, preferably in the social sciences discipline;
research experience is preferable but not essential;
very good interpersonal and communication skills in English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and
self-driven, positive attitude and with strong sense of responsibility.
Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract at a rate of HK$65 per hour. They shall be required to work not more than 17 hours per week during the period of their appointment which will be from June 2020 to August 2020. The working days and hours shall be agreed between the appointee and the Director of the Public and Social Policy Research Centre or his delegate. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions if applicable.
