    Library adjusted opening hours and precautionary measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic 2020-05-20

    In order to cater for the increasing demand for library services before and during the examination period, the opening hours of the campus libraries are adjusted as follows:

    11 May 2020 – 7 June 2020

     

    Monday to Friday

    Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays

    Stanley Ho Library, Main Campus

    Ho Sik Yee Library, Jockey Club Campus

    9:00 am to 10:00 pm 

    9:00 am to 6:00 pm

    In efforts to reduce the risk of the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the following precautionary measures are in place:

    1. Campus libraries open to OUHK active students and staff only

    The OUHK campus libraries will provide access to OUHK active students and staff only starting from 6 April 2020 until the COVID-19 outbreak has subsided. For those who are affected by this arrangement, the Library will extend the validity of their Library Reader’s/Borrower’s Ticket based on the duration of the restricted access period accordingly.

    2. Wear a mask when entering the Library

    With effect from 31 January 2020, all users are required to wear a mask at all times in the Library for their own and others' protection. Users who refuse to wear a mask will be asked to leave the Library immediately. Repeated violators will have their access to the campus libraries suspended for 7 calendar days.

    3. Maintain social distancing

    All library users are required to maintain social distancing when using the campus libraries.

    4. Special arrangement for library group rooms

    Arrangement for library group rooms starting from 8 May 2020:

    Stanley Ho Library, Main Campus

    Active Learning Space

    Temporarily closed

    Ho Sik Yee Library, Jockey Club Campus

    Audio-Visual Room
    Group Study Room 1

    Temporarily closed

    Group Study Rooms 2 & 3

    Open for booking with user number limited to 4 - 8 persons in each room

    Any updates to the above arrangements will be posted on the Library website.

    In addition, overdue fines incurred from 29 January (Wed) to 8 June 2020 (Mon) will be waived, except for library materials from the Reserve Collection.

    The OUHK Electronic Library is available 24x7. You are encouraged to use the online resources in the E-Library for your study and research during this period. For enquiries, please email us at libwww@ouhk.edu.hk.
