The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK) held a Chinese New Year Media Reception today (21 February) at which the Management of the University shared the latest development and future plan of the OUHK with the media.
At the event, President of the OUHK Prof. Yuk-Shan Wong said that 2017 was a fruitful and rewarding year for the University. While everyone at the University is excited about the commencement of the construction of the OUHK Jockey Club Institute of Healthcare, he was particularly delighted with the students’ achievements in the past year which had demonstrated their creativity, talents and efforts.
The President also introduced to the press new members of management. He welcomed Prof. Tong Chong-sze, who joined the University as Vice President (Administration and Development) in September last year. In addition, Prof. Charles Kwong Che-leung has been promoted to be the Dean the School of Arts and Social Science and Prof. Joseph Lee Kok-lung has taken up the role as the Dean of the newly established School of Nursing and Health Studies.
Both Prof. Charles Kwong and Prof. Joseph Lee shared their new directions of their Schools on the same occasion. New programmes that meet community needs will be launched and more resources will be allocated to support students’ learning to help unleash their full potentials.
