Associate of Social Sciences in Liberal Studies |
Programme description
The principal objectives of this programme are to liberate learners' minds by widening their horizons and to develop their academic knowledge and the intellectual ability necessary for reasoning, problem-solving and understanding natural and human life and society. Upon completion of the programme, learners will possess broad-based, general knowledge concerning issues in social behaviour and social psychology, contemporary Hong Kong and Chinese development, and sustainable development, and b e able to understand and analyse in greater detail some of the key issues in the social nature of human life, Hong Kong and Chinese society or sustainable development.
Graduates of the p rogramme can pursue jobs as administrators in social, public as well as non-profit making organizations or they can progress academically to obtain an ordinary or honours degree in related disciplines.
Programme requirements
Students pursuing this programme must successfully complete at least 80 credits.

Choosing the first courses to get started
Students should consider initially registering for one or more of the following courses, which count towards qualification in this programme. Students can plan to take the courses in such a way that they will achieve their academic qualification progressively, for example, obtaining an ordinary or honours degree in liberal studies.
