Programme description

This programme provides comprehensive knowledge of design, along with instruction on how to implement computer systems, networks and the integrated components that make up a computer system. Graduates are qualified to embark on a career as a system designer /integrator; or as a system programmer.

Programme-specific entry requirement:

This programme admits students who are holders of a recognized Higher Diploma in one of the following disciplines:

  • Electronic Engineering with Business Management
  • Instrumentation and Materials Technology
  • Marine Communication and Electronic Technology
  • Marine Electronics
  • Radio and Electronic Technology

Students pursuing this programme must successfully complete 50 credits as follows:

Choosing the first courses to get started

Students should consider initially registering for one or two of the following foundation level courses, which count towards qualification.

  • MATH S122 A Foundation Course in Applied Mathematics or MATH S121 A Foundation Course in Pure Mathematics

  • SCI S121 A Foundation Course in Physics and Chemistry

  • IT S123 Introduction to Internet Services and Applications or IT S101 Introduction to Information and Communications Technology
