    Important notes

This course will be taught via face-to-face mode. Lectures will be scheduled on weekday evenings. This is a core course for the Master of Social Sciences in International Economics and Development. The course covers the analysis of key leading economic indicators of the economy. It also describes the different opinions on business cycles and macroeconomic policies of different schools of macroeconomics. The course also discusses the potential reasons behind the economic growth of different countries and evaluates the government policies and disturbances that these countries face, it also critiques the aims, effectiveness, constraints, and challenges of various government macroeconomic policies, with a special focus on fiscal and monetary policies.

    Aims
This course aims to explain the short-and-long-term performance and structure of the economy as a whole through a set of models. These models provide the tools to understand and analyse the aggregate behaviour of households, firms, and the government, both domestically and internationally.
