lipace1Over 1,000 graduates complete their studies

LiPACE hosted two graduation ceremonies in September. There were over 460 graduates at the Professional Programme Graduation Ceremony held in the Serena Yang Lecture Theatre on 8 September. The Institute also presented prizes to outstanding students and an appointment certificate to an honorary advisor. The 2011/2012 Full-time Programmes Graduation Ceremony was held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on 27 September. This year, more than 700 students graduated from the Yi Jin Certificate, Pre-Associate Degree, Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes. On the same occasion, scholarships were presented to students with outstanding academic performance.

lipace2The second OUHK Elder Academy graduation ceremony

Over 50 elderly graduates received their awards from the OUHK Elder Academy at its second graduation ceremony, held on 28 July at the Serena Yang Lecture Theatre. Chairman of the Elderly Commission Prof. Alfred Chan Cheung-ming, President of BCT Third Age Academy Ms Lau Ka-shi, together with OUHK President Prof. John C Y Leong and LiPACE Director Prof. Lui Yu-hon presented the awards. Prof. Chan complimented the Academy on its innovativeness, as it is the only elder academy in Hong Kong offering financial management courses tailor-made for the elderly. The master of ceremony, receptionists and photographers for the event were student volunteers from LiPACE's full-time programmes.

    lipace3Training course enhances corporate competitiveness

Between May and August, the Institute designed and conducted an innovative tailor-made management development programme for the senior executives of the international trading company Wünsche (Hong Kong) Limited. Participants completed in groups two proposals responding to the company's actual needs. The CEO of the company's head office in Germany was invited to show his support through a video clip. The programme was highly commended for effectively cultivating a positive corporate culture and thus enhancing the company's overall competitiveness.
