    School of Arts and Social Sciences

    Dr Kelly Chan, Assistant Professor in Translation, has a BA in Translation and Interpretation and an MA in the same discipline from City University of Hong Kong, and a PhD in Classical Chinese Literature from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Before joining the OUHK, she taught translation and culture at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She enjoys reading, travelling and singing Cantonese opera.

    Ms Eileen Tsang, Lecturer in Public Administration, has a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in China Studies (Hons) from Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), and a Master of Philosophy degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Liberal Studies) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has been a research officer in a primary school and a teacher in a secondary school, and has worked as a project manager in the Education and Manpower Bureau and a part-time instructor at HKBU. She served as a part-time tutor at the OUHK from 2001 to 2007. Ms Tsang enjoys swimming, playing badminton, spending time with friends and watching musical performances.

    School of Education and Languages

    Dr Marek Koscielecki, Assistant Professor, was educated in Poland, New Zealand and Australia. In the early 1970s he studied at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. In the early 1980s he studied applied linguistics at the University of Sydney. In 1996 he received a PhD in Applied Linguistics from Edith Cowan University, Perth. He has taught in high schools in Papua New Guinea, Australia, Japan and Hong Kong. He has also worked as a researcher and as a lecturer in applied linguistics at tertiary institutions in Australia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. His research areas include foreign language education in Asia, language contact and language change as well as English as an international language. He loves travelling, reading on culture and politics and collecting old watches.

    Dr Susanna Lai, Assistant Professor, is a registered psychologist. She holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, an Advanced Diploma in Education, a Master of Education degree and a PhD in Psychology. Dr Lai has worked in different departments of the University of Hong Kong and the Education and Manpower Bureau. She was an educational and psychological consultant in private practice before joining the OUHK, and serves several academic and professional societies as founding member, director or council member. Her book Unlocking Children's Minds (in Chinese) was voted one of the Ten Best Books in 2005 in a poll conducted by the Sun Hung Kai Properties Book Club. In her leisure, she jogs, does yoga and flower arranging, and chats with her family.

    School of Science and Technology

    Ms Au Wai-ching, Lecturer in Nursing, obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in Nursing from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She worked as a Registered Nurse in the cardiac and intensive care units of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority and Hong Kong Baptist Hospital before joining the OUHK. Ms Au loves travelling and reading.

    Ms Alisa Wong, Lecturer in Nursing, has a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicinal Nursing. She did her undergraduate degree at Monash University and completed her Master of Nursing studies at the University of Sydney. Ms Wong was a Chevening Scholar in 2004, and has been a Registered Nurse in Australia, Hong Kong and the UK. She previously worked at LiPACE and taught nursing at the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She enjoys hiking and travelling.
