    Issues in Human Resource Management

    Aims
    This course provides students with up-to-date and more knowledge in current HRM issues and emergent trends of HRM practices with particular reference to the Hong Kong context.

    Contents
    This course covers the following topics:

    • Current and emergent issues in procurement and development of human resources

    • Current and emergent issues in management of reward and performance

    • Managing a diverse workforce

    • Human resource audits

    • Survey and research methods in HRM

    Learning support
    There will be ten two-hour tutorials and two two-hour surgeries.

    Assessment
    There are four assignments and one examination. Students must use word processing software (such as Microsoft Word) to prepare the assignments, and submit the assignments via the Online Learning Environment (OLE).

    There are no set books for this course.

    Remarks
    This is a two-term course starts in Spring with teaching activities in Summer term. The course will end in Summer term.
