    Students awarded for promoting tourism

    award Ng Chung-ting from the School of Arts and Social Sciences and Wong Wing-chi from the School of Education and Languages were awarded the Gold Medal and Silver Medal respectively for their efforts in promoting Hong Kong tourism in the past year, under the Hong Kong Young Ambassador Scheme jointly organized by the Tourism Commission, the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the Hong Kong Association for Customer Service Excellence. Chung Yan-shan and Ng Ka-yee from the School of Arts and Social Sciences were also newly appointed as Young Ambassadors for this scheme for the year 2013-2014.

    Accounting graduate receives silver award in professional examination

    Accounting In the June session of Qualification Programme (QP) examination organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Certificated Public Accountants, Bennett Cheung Chun-wah, who completed the Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting programme in 2011, was chosen for the silver award from among the 825 QP graduates.

    Learning and growing from business contest

    contest Year 3 Business Management student Mamta Chandiram Hotchandani earned the title of First Runner-up in the Hong Kong Outstanding Business Students Award 2013 held between May and September. From assessment interviews to a Youth Business Elites Forum, Mamta had to tackle questions about business, economics and politics, with particular emphasis on corporate social responsibility. As part of the award, Mamta will complete an internship with a large-scale company and a mentorship programme, giving her the opportunity to meet with business leaders. 'This platform allows me to learn, to grow and to conquer adversity!' she said.

    Students excel in computational intelligence projects

    excel In September, Year 3 Computing students Leung Man-fai and Stella Cheung won the First Runner-up and Second Runner-up respectively in the IEEE (Hong Kong) Computational Intelligence Chapter 10th Final Year Project Competition. In their award-winning projects, Man-fai studied Particle Swarm Optimization as a new machine learning algorithm, while Stella developed a system to treat cockroach phobia using augmented reality and graded exposure.
