    Full-time Programmes Graduation Ceremony

The 2012/2013 Full-time Programmes Graduation Ceremony was held at Kowloonbay International Trade & Exhibition Centre on 28 September. Director of LiPACE Prof. Lui Yu-hon, instructors and representatives at partnering institutions attended. A total of 667 students graduated from the Advanced Diploma, Diploma, Pre-Associate Degree and Yi Jin Diploma programmes. The Teaching Excellence Award and scholarships were presented to an instructor and students in recognition of their outstanding contributions and academic performance respectively.

Walking into classrooms for children with special needs

lipace In May, students from the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Early Childhood Studies programme participated in two school visit activities to help them better understand inclusive education and special needs education. At Small World Christian Kindergarten, students were able to look into how children with special needs grow with their peers, and also gained familiarity with school policy design, learning space arrangements, and selection of teaching materials and strategies.

Similarly, at a visit to Lutheran School for the Deaf, students from the programme were introduced to the different communication strategies applied to support the learning of hearing-impaired children, such as the use of oral language, lip reading, sign language and hearing aids. Students also learned about how speech therapists' early intervention could boost such children's learning capabilities.

    New design programmes

lipace Professional Diploma in Interior Design

Through participation in the programme, students will grasp innovative design concepts and learn about the relationship between interior space and the users within residential, office and hotel environments. The programme will prepare graduates to develop careers in the fields of interior design, lighting design, exhibition design or computer-aided design (CAD).

lipce Professional Diploma in Product Design

This programme will equip students with professional knowledge of design for luxury and fashion products, watches and toys, and develop students' capacity for innovation. Experienced and award-winning designers have been invited to serve as instructors and guest speakers. Graduates of the programme may go on to pursue careers as product designers, model makers, CAD designers or design engineers.
