The Bachelor of Science with Honours in Physiotherapy is a four-year programme. Applicants can apply for admission to Year 1.

    Year 1 entry#   Programme code: BSCHPTJ1
    # SSSDP subsidy is not applicable to non-local applicants/students of this programme.

    Entry Requirement
Remark: Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in Chinese and English.

The aim of the Physiotherapy Programme is to equip the students with the best theoretical and practical skill, competence and confidence to qualify as professional physiotherapists. The curriculum is being developed in compliance with international standards and the Physiotherapists Board’s requirements for programme accreditation. Professional courses will be delivered in small classes/groups. In addition to the state-of-the-art equipment in specially-designed practical rooms, advanced technology such as web-based resource hub, simulation experience and digital dissection pedagogy will be used to facilitate teaching and learning. Clinical placements of over 1000 hours will be arranged in hospitals, clinics, NGOs, and community-based settings.

Upon successful accreditation of the Programme by the Physiotherapists Board of the Supplementary Medical Professions Council, graduates will be eligible for registration to practise as physiotherapists in Hong Kong.

    Career prospects

A review from the Food and Health Bureau# reveals a huge shortage of practising physiotherapists in Hong Kong. Registered physiotherapists usually work in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, public and private health organizations, non-governmental organizations, private clinics, sports and fitness institutions, elderly homes, community centres and special schools.
