    The Bachelor of Language Studies with Honours (Bilingual Communication), Bachelor of Global Business with Honours is a four-year double-degree programme. Applicants can apply for admission to Year 1.

    Entry Requirement



    The double-degree programme aims to foster a group of bilingual business graduates who possess a high level of English and Chinese proficiency and comprehensive knowledge of business for the pursuit of a career in international enterprises and organisations.

    This programme is specifically designed so that students will be equipped with comprehensive theoretical knowledge and technical know-how in business and management and will be able to communicate in high-calibre written and spoken English and Chinese in the business context. Courses of this programme include:

    1. bilingual communication;

    2. business and management;

    3. synergy courses on using and analysing business English and Chinese; and

    4. General Education.

    Students will also have a chance to go on a language and culture immersion programme at the University of Warwick and take part in an internship project in an overseas/local business corporation.

    Career prospects

    Graduates can seek employment in various organisations as entry level professionals and managers. Having a well-developed ability to use English and Chinese and to critically analyse language use will give graduates a competitive edge in a variety of career pathways, including administration, publishing, the media and teaching.

    Further studies

    Many opportunities are available for graduates of the programme to undertake postgraduate studies in Hong Kong and overseas. Some students will continue to study for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other master’s degrees in business-related areas such as accounting, human resource management and corporate governance. Graduates will also have a chance to further their studies by doing course work (MA) or research work (MPhil) in language-related areas such as linguistics, applied linguistics and translation.
