    OUHK honours five distinguished individuals as Fellows

    Dr Simon Ho Shek-on

    Dr Simon Ho Shek-on is the founder and Managing Director of Talent Wealth Group Limited, which provides such services as company setting, investment and infrastructure project planning, management, and financing. He has more than forty years of experience in the fields of entrepreneurship, engineering, project management and industrial engineering consultancy in Hong Kong and mainland China. Dr Ho is a registered professional engineer in Hong Kong and a chartered engineer in the UK, and has been actively participating in and making significant contributions to various engineering institutions and professional bodies. Since the 1980s, he has enthusiastically contributed his expertise to the advancement of higher education in Hong Kong and the UK, including serving as a university advisor, course assessor and committee member in both places.

    Mr Peter Hung Hak-hip

    Mr Peter Hung Hak-hip is the Chairman of Hop Hing Group, which is engaged in the food business in Hong Kong and mainland China and includes a major vertically integrated oil processing, packing and distribution company. Mr Hung is an active contributor to the industry, and is currently President of the Hong Kong Food Council. He has also long been a staunch supporter of education development in Hong Kong. He is the Honorary Life President of the Youth Arch Foundation, which organizes the annual Hong Kong Outstanding Students Award and the Youth Arch Student Improvement Award. In 2012, the Foundation generously donated $2.5 million to the University to establish the Youth Arch – OUHK Improvement Scholarship.

    Ms Edith Shih

    Ms Edith Shih is Head Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of Hutchison
    Whampoa Limited, leading a team of over 280 lawyers and 60 company secretarial executives stationed in more than 20 countries. Ms Shih practises law in Hong Kong, England and Wales and Victoria, Australia, and has built an illustrious career in the field. She received the first Hong Kong In-house Lawyer of the Year Award of Asian Legal Business in 2006, the first Asian Woman in Business Law Award of the Legal Media Group in 2011 and General Counsel of the Year (Asia-Pacific Counsel Awards) of International Law Offices in 2014. She is currently the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Vice President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.

    Ms Katie Shu Sui-pui

    Ms Katie Shu Sui-pui is the founder and owner of Regal Fortune Limited, specializing in property investment and management. She is also the settlor of Katie Shu Sui Pui Charitable Trust, which makes regular donations to various charitable organizations and higher education institutions in Hong Kong and mainland China. Ms Shu obtained a degree from the OUHK in 2006 and shares the belief in its mission of providing a second chance to those who have previously missed the opportunity to pursue studies. She has made great contributions in support of her fellow schoolmates through bursaries and scholarships. In 2008 and 2013, she donated $1 million towards the University’s Campus Phase II project and another $1 million to establish the Regal Fortune Limited – Katie Shu Sui Pui Bursary for Working Fathers.

    Mr Matthew Wong Leung-pak

    Mr Matthew Wong Leung-pak is the Chairman of Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited, one of the largest non-franchised public bus operators in Hong Kong. In 1985, Mr Wong initiated a collaborative project with other local passenger transport operators to form the Public Omnibus Operators Association. He has been the Chairman of the Association since its establishment and has made significant contributions to the industry for decades. Mr Wong is also a keen supporter of higher education and lifelong learning. Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings Limited generously donated $3 million to the OUHK for the development of Jubilee College; and the company has also joined the University’s Employer Support Study Scheme to encourage lifelong education and staff development.
