    Talk on enhancing career prospects

Council member Ms Virginia Choi gave a talk entitled ‘Enhancing Career Prospects’ to 200 students and alumni. The talk was organized by the Alumni Affairs Office of the Public Affairs Unit and held on
3 April. With over 30 years of experience in human resources management, Ms Choi is currently the Managing Consultant and Country Manager of Tamty McGill Consultants International Limited. She said that, according to the company’s survey conducted on those born in the 1980’s in Hong Kong and mainland China, there was an expectation gap between the employers and employees from generations Y and Z. Among the respondents, 360 were OUHK alumni and students who were considered to be more mature than others by employers. Ms Choi also made recommendations for employers and members of the younger generations on how to work together more effectively.

    OUHK Guangzhou Alumni Association established

With an aim to strengthening ties among alumni on the mainland, the OUHK Guangzhou Alumni Association was established as the University’s first alumni group outside Hong Kong. All Guangzhou graduates are welcome to join. Check out more via pxzx@gzboftec.gov.cn.

    Second Putonghua recitation contest

The Putonghua Association (Alumni) organized the second OUHK Putonghua Recitation Contest on 9 February on the Ho Man Tin campus. The event included more than 100 competition items, with participants being divided into four groups: Kindergarteners, primary students, secondary students, and undergraduates and adults.
