    Alumni Homecoming Day

On May 25, alumni had a chance to express their gratitude for the OUHK and satiate their curiosity about recent developments when they returned to celebrate the Silver Jubilee Anniversary of their alma mater as part of the Alumni Homecoming Day, held at the Jubilee College. The kick-off ceremony for this event was officiated by Deputy Council Chairman Mr Edward Cheung and President Prof. Yuk-Shan Wong.

The alumni coming not only from Hong Kong, but also from as far away as Macau and Guangzhou, toured the impressive, brand-new Jubilee College. The alumni, guided by a team of student ambassadors on the campus tours, were impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities in the lecture halls, laboratories and studios.

The Alumni Homecoming Day was filled with fabulous performances and other exciting activities. One of the highlights of the event was the Variety Show, in which full-time Accounting student Mr Chan Chun-hin, Second Runner-up at the World Yo-yo Contest, showed his stunning yo-yo tricks, while alumnus Dr Sak Ka-fung and the OUHK Orchestra and full-time BBA student Mr Ho Chun-chiu entertained the audience with beautiful music. Alumni groups also demonstrated their affection for their alma mater by performing songs and poems, and several outstanding alumni shared their own learning journeys and some tips for success. There were also booths set up for the sale of our 25th Anniversary souvenirs, as well as to display the leather accessories and fabric bags designed by students and alumni.

Finally, to mark the success of the ‘Name a Desk Fundraising Campaign’ for the construction of Jubilee College, guests and alumni donors whose donations of $6,000 or above were invited to visit the lecture theatre, where their generosity was acknowledged on desk plaques.
