    Our Objectives

    Teaching and Learning (T&L) team of the Office of Academic Support (OAS) aims to support the mission and key values of the University, and to promote the graduate attributes it espouses, by ensuring that the University continues to deliver high-quality programmes and courses, maintains high academic standards and strives to enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

    Quality assurance on teaching and learning aims:

    • to promote quality culture in the University by ensuring that programmes and courses conform to a pre-determined set of standards through monitoring by a combination of peer, internal and external reviews;
    • to facilitate improvement in teaching and learning through collecting feedback from students, graduates and employers;
    • to recommend necessary updates to the QA-related policies and procedures by benchmarking with local and international standards and considering feedback from stakeholders and government authorities; and
    • to manage survey findings and student statistics, and ensure timely dissemination of accurate data to academic units and external stakeholders (e.g. EDB, HKCAAVQ) for academic planning, service enhancement, public access etc.

    Quality enhancement on teaching and learning aims:

    • to engage academic staff and students in the pursuit of continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and learning in the University;
    • to facilitate sharing of good and innovative teaching practices and inspire academic staff to explore and apply the latest pedagogical approach and technological advancement through offering professional development opportunities;
    • to enhance learning experience of students by providing practical and easily accessible learning support; - to promote life-long learning through driving self-directed learning among students; and
    • to review University policies related to teaching and learning practices and recommend improvement measures where applicable.
